| Lucy Hood was formerly President of Fox Mobile Entertainment and CEO of Jamba, the mobile industry’s largest vertically integrated mobile entertainment company. Hood was appointed to the CEO role in September, 2006 after spearheading News Corporation’s efforts to acquire a controlling interest in Jamba from VeriSign. Lucy Hood is widely known as an innovative industry leader in digital content, and as a key architect of News Corp’s mobile strategy. |
| Under Hood’s leadership, Jamba’s reach extended to one billion people in 25 languages, offering the world's widest selection of popular mobile entertainment, including content from media companies such as Universal Music, Warner Music, MTV, Sony/BMG, Electronic Arts and Disney. Jamba produces unique, original and made-for-mobile entertainment offerings, with the addition of content from News Corporation’s 60 divisions, including The Simpsons Mobile. |
| Hood founded Fox Mobile Entertainment in 2005. Lucy Hood and her team created many industry firsts, including leading the groundbreaking “American Idol” mobile efforts, which introduced text messaging to mass media in the United States in 2001. Hood also received the first Emmy ® nomination for mobile content with the mobile video series “24:Conspiracy,” leading the team that created the Mobisode ® and the first ad-sponsored mobile video. Fox Mobile Studios has created content ranging from The Simpsons to original video series to new formats from animation, voice and graphic artists. |
| Hood started her career at News Corporation over a decade ago and has been a key executive in launching numerous technology businesses at Fox and News Corporation including Fox Pay Television, Fox.com, FX Cable and the News Corp Content Group. |
| Hood is a keynote speaker at major industry events and business conferences around the world such as 3GSM, CES, E3, CTIA, 3G, Wireless Influencers and Digital Hollywood. In addition, Lucy Hood has spoken on digital issues before top government officials in the US and in China. She is regularly featured in lists of key influential executives, including the Digital 50 and the Mobile Entertainment Top 50. Boards include: the Leadership Council Board of Advisors for the CTIA and Jamba. Hood also managed News Corp’s Creative Council and is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Lucy Hood holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business and a B.A. degree in English and Theatre from Yale University.
